BIO

Doremus "DJ Baby Boy" Thomas is a Cleveland-based DJ. He has been a DJ since 2006. He started as a Chopped and Screwed DJ because he loved the way the DJ mixed the song and kept it upbeat, even though it was slowed down. Being curious as to how the DJ was able to manipulate the tracks the way they did, DJ Baby Boy then decided he was going to learn the art of DJing by becoming a Chopped and Screwed DJ.  With his background in his high school chorus as a tenor, marching band where he played the cymbals, bass drum, and finally tenor, where he found his calling for having an ear for music. He then went off to the Army and served 2 tours in Iraq, before finally getting out from Seoul, South Korea. Where he started DJing at his first club, and did a few parties, most notably 2013 New Year’s Eve at the Dragon Hill Lodge, where he was the head DJ servicing the main floor. He gained prominence with the local rap scene of Cleveland in 2013, when he started reaching out to artists via Facebook from Korea. He would talk to them about their song and would then mix it for them while also offering them a chance at a broader audience. The artists loved the quality of work put in by DJ Baby Boy, and he created a vast network of artists and DJs. DJ Baby Boy decided to learn how to become a radio DJ by going to The Ohio Media School in Cleveland in 2019. He also wanted to learn to produce music, so he signed up for their audio emphasis class. During his time at Ohio Media School, he had to intern for a music business, which is when he reached out to well-known Def Jam A&R Quincy "Big Heff" Taylor. Big Heff introduced DJ Baby Boy to DJ Johnny O of the Nerve DJs, where he interned as an audio engineer for the Juanita Gowdy and Friends podcast. His quality of work along with his discipline for things to be right, led him to be known to another station, VoiceitRadio.com, where he met Errol "EP" Porter. EP liked the sound quality that DJ Baby Boy produced for his live shows, and he offered him a permanent spot as the head audio engineer for multiple shows. They are now co-hosts for the Hot Mess In The Evening podcast. DJ Baby Boy has released numerous songs and mixtapes for local artists. He was a part of multiple DJ crews, Do Work DJs, Thowed Assasins, United and Screwed DJs, and NerveDJs. DJ Baby Boy went to Ohio Media School to learn how to be a radio DJ, an audio engineer, and to produce music. He is now studying at Full Sail University to broaden his skills in the music industry. DJ Baby Boy has aspirations to become a prominent music producer, an A&R for a major record label, and to become a household name DJ.
